Required Swap Parts
Essential components needed to mount and operate an LL8 in your swap.
Engine Mounts
No Bolt-In Kits: All LL8 swaps require custom fabrication or adapter kits
Semi-DIY Kit: Semi-DIY Engine Mount - Easier than full custom
350Z/G35 Kit: Z33/V35 Engine Mounts - Nissan chassis specific
GM Factory Mounts: Can adapt GMT360 mounts with custom brackets
LS Mount Adapters: Some fabricators weld LS mount tabs to LL8 block
Location: Same general position as GM small/big blocks
Oil Pan
Factory Pan Won't Work
Issue: 10" deep front sump designed for AWD GMT360 chassis
Transfer Case: Factory pan has passage for front driveshaft
Ground Clearance: Too deep for most RWD applications
Aftermarket Rear Sump Pans
Emtech Motorsports: Cast aluminum, complete rear sump conversion
Forever Fabrication: Welded steel, -10AN turbo drain, internal baffles
Stutz Performance: Custom rear sump options
DIY: Some fabricators modify Atlas I5 pans or weld custom steel pans
Intake Manifold
Factory Manifold: Works fine for most swaps, good to 400+ hp
Throttle Body: Electronic drive-by-wire (2002-2009)
Clearance: Tall manifold may require hood modifications
Aftermarket: No aftermarket intake manifolds currently available
Exhaust Manifolds
Stock Manifolds (Temporary)
Cast Iron: Factory manifolds bolt on but WILL crack
Issue: Rear cylinder bolt breaks constantly, all manifolds crack eventually
Best Factory: 2008-2009 6-2-1 design flows best
Headers (Recommended)
Forever Fabrication: Log-style turbo manifolds
Artec Performance: T4 turbo manifolds
Race Mufflers: Exhaust flanges for custom headers
DIY: Weld factory manifolds for turbo (cast steel, not iron)
Accessories
Alternator: Factory 105A alternator works, mount on driver side
Power Steering: Factory pump, may need custom lines
A/C: Factory compressor works if needed
Serpentine Belt: May need custom length depending on accessories
